Here in Florida, there was a time after a major hurricane season when the roofing business was booming. Roofers and general contractors were traveling from as far as California and New York to get work, and the demand continued to grow. It seemed like a simple choice – hire whomever you can as long as they have good credentials so you can get your roof replaced, right? Wrong. As time passed, reports grew about roof after roof after roof failing their inspections, because the out-of-state contractors and roofers didn’t know the local rules, guidelines and restrictions. For some people, this meant waiting months for their roof to be done, living in a leaky, drippy mess of a home in the meantime. For others, this meant losing out on thousands of dollars as the out-of-state contractors took the money and ran home, resulting in years of litigation, and lots of unhappy homeowners.

What’s the lesson behind this? It’s simple. When you’re dealing with a subject matter that is heavily entrenched with local, regional, and state laws, rules, and regulations, your peace of mind is dependent on hiring a local expert. The more complicated the laws, the more important it is to have someone who is confident, skilled, and comfortable with the nuances of legal language.

Do you want a landscaper who doesn’t know your HOA rules when it comes to what’s allowed in your front yard?
Do you want a window tinter who doesn’t know how dark your front windows can legally be?
Do you want an electrician who doesn’t understand the local building code?
Do you want a notary public who isn’t intimately familiar with Florida laws and regulations?

When we provide our services for real estate closings, business deals, probate documents and more, our clients are relying on the fact that we know the local laws and won’t make mistakes that will invalidate all of their hard work.

When we teach classes to other aspiring notary signing agents, we’re not just teaching them about marketing and best practices. We’re passing on the local and state knowledge that is essential for our attendees to know and understand if they’re going to do their job correctly. And by remaining local, we’re taking responsibility for what we teach and the knowledge we leave behind.  Can you imagine trying to learn Florida law from an out of state instructor?

We still have spots available in our August 14th and September 18th classes – sign up today to make sure you have the national, regional, and Florida-based knowledge you need to be the best notary signing agent you can!
